SMB 31Dæmon

Playing SMB1 is like riding a bicycle: even after two decades of interruption you still know how to do it. But not this version. Though doable, it may be quite a challenge.

NOTE!!!!: This game is not finished yet! World 1-1 to 4-1 are completely altered and everything after that is still in the original state. Hence the “v0.4.1″, which makes this game a Beta version. Please check this page every now and then for updates.

Brief instructions for the usage of VirtuaNES 0.97, which is in the download above: Extract the zip, click on VirtuaNES.exe and open a .nes-file, in this case SMB 31Dæmon v0.4.1.nes. View or modify the controlling options at Option -> Controller. You can choose which keys you’d like to use for gaming input.

Speaking of controllers, use yours for a better gameplay. The ultimate is of course the original NES-controller. With a special adapter you can connect it to USB, which you can order here. With a SNES controller you can also manage NES games just fine. Personally I’m using the Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2. If you have it, use it. Works great.
